Another aspect of Helmutt's congenital defects was a misshapen skull. Since he was a babe, he'd always had synthetic or obvious cyberskulls. He's grown to see his as a part of himself, and uses it to express his individuality. His current model is a red, smooth, steel dome that extends from his brow line back to the nape of his neck.

Helmutt rents an old retrofitted shipping container down by the Baldeneysee. It's spacious enough to fit all of his projects, and comfortably furnished with some faux-designer pieces, but lacks in certain refinements. It has a simple kitchnette, basic plumbing (upgraded to support his workshop), and a decent CHN. Even though he's known as a sell-out, his status as a former anarchist means his place is often viewed as a place to crash by would be aspirants to the manifesto, and Helmutt has a hard time turning them away. It seems there's almost always someone sleeping on his couch.
Personal:
                Logical, methodical, determined, and patient are all good descriptions of Helmutt.  He's loyal to a fault to his friends, and dogged in his persecution of his enemies. Despite his combative appearance, he's a kind, considerate, and even compassionate man more interested in his studies, tinkering, and gadgets than in creating or causing drama. He's generally willing to work with just about anyone, though he has a rather outspoken disdain for the French; he realizes his prejudice is irrational, but in his words, "Sie sind verdammt Französisch".
                Helmutt has a hard time with intimacy, partly due to his inability to experience physical contact well. His 'numbness' limits his physical intimacy, and has made him somewhat leery of emotional or mental intimacy; something of a mental 'numbness'. He often sees himself as an outsider in all things, and never really opens up or shares about himself, preferring to let others do the talking and sharing.
Background:
                Born Christian Zimmermann, to a machinist father and a mother who was a teacher, Christian came into the world with a rather unique and unusual congenital defect: his skull was badly malformed, and his periphery somatosensory nerves were strangely stunted. He was otherwise healthy, and after some cosmetic surgery - namely the implanting of a prosthesis skull - he was an able and apt child. He had no siblings; his mother has a long string of miscarriages before and after Christian was born.
                Christian displayed early signs of exceptional intelligence, and his mother took it upon herself to ensure his curiosities and development were encouraged, home schooling him herself, with the help of Matrix tutors. Christian practically grew up in VR rooms. Christian excelled in his studies, and otherwise had a perfectly happy and normal childhood. His parents continued to seek medical care for him, even going so far as to inducing synaptic booster bioware when he was 16 to see if it would ameliorate his 'numbness', as he came to call it. He also had several headware modifications, to help in his schooling, including his first encephalon system. His parents invested most of their savings in his development.
                Christian was readily accepted to Bonn university, where he completed a double-major in Computer Science and Physics. It was during his time at school that Christian would have his first encounter with the Anarchist movement. At first, he simply attended a few rallies and meetings. It wasn't until he completed his undergraduate work, and started looking at his employment opportunities, that he realized the majority of the contracts offered him were thinly disguised indentured servitudes to any of the faceless megacorporations. He tuned in, turned on, and dropped out.
                Once Christian took to Anarchism, he went wholesale. He adopted his moniker, Helmutt, and iconic cyberskull motif. He quickly turned his technical prowess - both in the Matrix and in the flesh - towards anarchy, making explosives, propaganda writings, etc. And it was as an anarchist that Helmutt met Anna.
                Anna and Helmutt had a torid, year-long affair. Helmutt  was thoroughly smitten from first glance. After a year together, they had endured penury, police persecution, and other hardships together. Helmutt wanted to give her more, and he knew he couldn't do so as an anarchist. He had received an offer to work with Saeder-Krupp. The offer had been vague, but the substantials were very, so he took the offer. The day he broke it to Anna, he had expected her to be happy, or at least accepting. Instead, she had called him a sell-out and traitor to the cause. By evening, she had disappeared from his life, leaving a spiritual numbness to complement his physical one.
                Regardless, Helmutt enjoyed his time working as a bodyguard of the dragon. He got to play with, develop, and design numerous gadgets and toys, and the money was good. He had planned to make enough to live off of, and find Anna, and retire, thinking she would take him back if she only saw that he'd done it for her. But for all his resources and skills, he never was able to find her, yet.
Current Activities:
                Helmutt's still in the employ of Saeder-Krupp, though with the loss of Lofwyr he's not sure of his continued gainful employment. His regret over having joined the company is causing him to have guilty feelings regarding the dragon's death, and he is remorseful he could feel that way when he had a job to do. He continues to look for Anna.
